In addition to good eye-sight, turkey vultures have a very good sense of smell. Turkey Vultures can soar for hours looking for carcasses. When not in flight, all of the hawk-like birds like the bare branches of tall trees so that they can watch the surrounding area. Bald Eagles have wing spans that sometimes exceed seven feet.
