This young raccoon, videotaped in September, is probably about 4 or 5 months old. It is unusual to find raccoons out looking for food in the daytime, as they are generally nocturnal. You can see that this small raccoon is feeling under the water with his dexterous paws, looking for the occasional crayfish, bugs, or even roots to eat.
